1. According to Xcode 7 and Technical Q&A QA1686 - App Icons on iPad and iPhone

According to iOS Human Interface Guideline, when iOS displays an app icon on the Home screen of a device, it automatically applies a correct mask that rounds the corners. Therefore, you should provide images with 90° corners. However, you still can create icons with round corners for iOS applications using IconFly if you export icons using 'Create icons' function.

Here you can find the list of icons for iPhone and iPad that you can create using IconFly:

  • Create icons

Create folder with all necessary images in correct dimensions.

  • Create appicon .appiconset

Create AppIcon.appiconset folder with all the correctly sized icons and properly formatted JSON file. AppIcon.appiconset is fully compatible with Xcode 6.0 or later.
